Jan. 9 is going to be a very big day in Des Moines
CCI Action Fund, along with regional and national allies, is hosting a “Real People Ready for Real Solutions” People First summit and Presidential forum!
- When: Saturday, Jan. 9, 9am – 4:30pm (lunch provided!)
- Where: First Christian Church, 2500 University Ave, Des Moines
- Who: Hundreds of everyday Iowans, over 100 grassroots leaders from across the Midwest, key movement leaders and special guests

The morning summit will consist of plenaries and teach-in sessions led by national movement thinkers and doers on issues impacting everyday people the most - good jobs and a living wage, creating a clean energy economy, ending mass incarceration and more.A forum with the Democratic candidates for President will follow the morning summit. But, it’s not the candidates’ stump speeches we’re there to listen to – it’s our grassroots leaders’ stories being told on stage and demanding real solutions from the candidates to address the issues we’re facing daily in our communities.With the Iowa caucuses scheduled for Feb. 1, this will be a marquee event we’ll use to change business as usual politics. We’ll be sending out registration information soon, but I wanted to let you know now so you can get this marked on your calendar. Join the fight!
