Big Bird visits Romney's rural event
Big Bird and his Sesame Street friends paid a visit to GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney and his corporate agenda at a campaign stop in Van Meter, Iowa Tuesday morning.Iowa CCI Action Fund members say that a new economy that puts people first can be built by raising revenues without spending cuts when the political will exists to close corporate tax loopholes, end the Bush-era tax cuts for the super-rich, scrap the cap on Social Security payroll taxes, expand Medicare eligibility to all Americans, and enact a financial speculation “Robin Hood” tax on high-frequency trading.Iowa CCI Action Fund is not affiliated with – or endorsed by – “Sesame Street”. In a tweet sent out the morning after last week’s presidential debate, Sesame Workshop, the group that produces the show, “Sesame Street” said: “We are a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization. We do not comment on campaigns, but we’re happy we can all agree that everyone likes Big Bird!”
