CCI Action Launches Vote Glasson Media Blitz
May 23, 2018 - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEIndependent Expenditure targets rural radio, farm & ag publications, and social mediaDes Moines, IA – Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement Action Fund (CCI Action) today announced an independent expenditure (IE) ad buy supporting Cathy Glasson for Governor in advance of the June 5, 2018 Iowa Democratic Primary.The $11,000 IE will support two weeks of radio ads, print ads in farm publications, and social media ads, all targeting rural voters and lifting up Glasson’s positions on farm and agricultural issues.“Glasson has an issue-driven approach to this race, and her policy proposals are the solutions that rural Iowa needs.” said Hugh Espey, executive director of CCI Action. ““But this race is about more than just Cathy, it’s about doing politics differently and building a people powered movement around everyday issues to win big change.”The ad buys will reach over 100,000 Iowans in a multi-channel approach blanketing key rural media outlets; including:
- Radio ads – running two weeks – will reach thousands of Iowans across 30 northern Iowa counties
- Print ads in Farm News and Iowa Farmer today will reach an estimated 52,000 Iowans
- Social media ads targeting rural voters will reach an estimated 48,000 Iowans
This ad buy is on top of the $40,000 that CCI Action is spending on field organizing in the race, and multiple mail pieces that the organization has sent in support of Cathy Glasson.
