Meet this champion for clean water

Clean water should be a right, not a fight! But with a Governor’s office that’s been up for sale to corporate agribusiness and big polluters, Iowans can’t take the quality of our water for granted anymore.

We need a Governor who is committed to putting our people, our planet, our quality of life, and our water above profits! That person is Cathy Glasson.

A pipeline fighter for governor?

I know you care about the pipeline issue in Iowa and I wanted to make sure you saw this.

Last month, the Keystone Pipeline leaked -- pipelines always do -- spilling 210,000 gallons of oil in South Dakota.

Our plan to endorse a People & Planet candidate for governor of Iowa

Our plan to endorse a People & Planet candidate for governor of Iowa

The CCI Action board of directors sees Iowa's 2018 governor's race as an opportunity to inject our style of progressive populism into the race to do politics differently. I’m excited to announce that CCI Action has decided to start a formal endorsement process for the governor’s race.

Specifically, we think our endorsement process is a way to:
  • Advance our organizing campaigns, by making candidates take a stand on our issues.
  • Build our people-power base, bringing like-minded Iowans into our work.
  • Train ourselves on doing electoral field work – knocking on doors, making calls, talking to voters, etc.
Ultimately, we want to lay the groundwork for a possible co-governing relationship – where elected officials govern hand-in-hand with movement organizations like CCI Action.
