A great day to door knock!

On Saturday, CCI Action members from the Quad Cities and around the state hit the streets in Davenport to talk to folks about clean water. It was a blast, but even more than that, we made a difference. We had some great conversations about what CCI Action members are doing to clean up Iowa’s dirty water, and how Senator Joe Seng can assist us in those efforts. And we gathered dozens more signatures for a petition we’re circulating statewide calling on the DNR to enforce the Clean Water Act in Iowa. If you joined us on Saturday, thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy schedule to take action on cleaning up Iowa’s dirty water. And if you weren’t able to join us, don’t worry – we’ve got another opportunity to stand up for clean water right around the corner! We need more people voting instead of putting up roadblocks for those who are eligible

Secretary of State Matt Schultz has yet to produce a single conviction around voter fraud in Iowa. He recently gained access to a federal immigration database and will soon be sending out letters to individuals whose citizenship is in question. We need more people voting in Iowa, not put up roadblocks for those who are eligible.

More than two dozen Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement Action Fund (Iowa CCI Action Fund) members entered Governor Terry Branstad’s Urbandale campaign office today and delivered a letter demanding Branstad support a strong Clean Water Act work plan agreement between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR).

Time For Branstad Administration to “Clean It Up” – Polluted Water and Corrupt Government

“Governor Branstad, it’s time to clean it up and sign a strong work plan to bring Iowa into compliance with the Clean Water Act,” said Cherie Mortice, a retired teacher who raised hogs for ten years. “Clean up our water of factory farm pollution and clean up our government of corporate corruption.”

News broke this week about a letter Branstad sent to EPA headquarters in Washington D.C. on May 20, proudly proclaiming his opposition to Clean Water Act enforcement and demanding a meeting between the governor’s staff, state and federal regulators, and agribusiness leaders here in Iowa.
